The Pest!

Rose pestered and pestered me about getting a blog. She tried every method she knew of. She said every other girl her age had one, she told me and would do anything for one and wouldn't write anything bad and in the end she said she would get one herself even without my consent. I agreed.

Was I too weak? Should I have told her no? Should I have beaten her and made her go to be room? I am such a soft mother.

  1. Mary,

All my girls have blogs. I love sharing my writing passion with my daughters. We read each other's posts and encourage each other, swap blog post ideas, admire each other's blog designs... Perhaps you and Rose can do the same. Blogging could be something you share, something you can enjoy doing together.

Was there a particular reason you didn't want Rose to have a blog? I wouldn't call you a soft mother for letting her have one. I have always found blogging to be a very positive experience, something worth doing both for me and my children. I hope you enjoy it too.

    1. Sue,
I read some of your posts and your ideas and to tell the truth you made me cry! I feel like I have been doing everything wrong. After hearing that there are other ways of doing things I looked it up on the internet and saw so many people saying the same thing, spanking will get you no where! I have spent my whole life doing what is wrong. Is it too late for me to change what I am doing? Have I already lost everything I had with my daughters?

    2. Mary,

I wrote a reply to your comment on my blog. Thank you for stopping by again. Have you lost everything with your daughters? Oh no! You still have so much to share with them. I hope we can chat again another time!

    3. Sue,
You have made me see how wrong I have been. I feel so horrified at what I have been doing! Would I like people to hit and scream at me? No! Adults can be worse then children. I have decided to set out and get back what I have lost with my children.

P.S Thank you so much for making me see the truth!

  2. Mary I am glad to see you have made yourself a blog! I wasn't sure you would do it.
Blogging is a great educational experience. It isn't being soft to let your child have a blog. Children should be encouraged to blog, not discouraged.
